1.Ari Aster
Ari Aster is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. Hereditary is directed by Ari Aster, who made his feature film debut with this critically acclaimed psychological thriller released in 2018. Aster is known for his great attention to detail, combining psychological thrillers with deep emotional themes. Aster studied at the American Film Institute, where he developed his skills in film making and storytelling. Before Hereditary, he gained fame for his short films, like The Strange Thing About the Johnsons, which tackled complex and unsettling themes.
He graduated from the American Film Institute. His first movie was Dick Tracy(1990). His films have been noted for their combination of horror, dark comedy, and depictions of graphic violence through thrills. He got fame also because of writing and directing the A24 horror film Midsommar (2019). His movie hereditary received 3 awards and 15 nominations. It’s a big accomplishment for him. Moreover, his work is highly spontaneous.

One of the most interesting upcoming directors working today, he combines a highly marketable genre element with an arthouse sensibility in both his movies and short films. He makes horror films and because of those he came to light. In Hereditary, the way he portrays her past trauma is what gained my interest. He combines images of horror and beauty seamlessly. He adds sounds which trigger audiences as well as keeping them hooked to the screen.
2.Alfred Hitchcock
Alfred Hitchcock was an English film director. He is famous for creating suspenseful thrillers in the history of cinema. His famous film “Psycho” is one of my reference film. His unique style of creating slow paced thriller films like Psycho and also keeping the audience hooked inspired me. He mostly used Dolly zoom, point of view shots, and dynamic camera movements in his films. He made Psycho in black and white to enhance the film’s unsettling effect and to reduce cost. Due to black and white, the shower scene captured its significance.

He mostly made psychological thrillers like Vertigo in which audiences couldn’t guess who the antagonist. Like in Psycho, his work kept me confused till the end as I couldn’t even guess that the man killed that woman.

He left remarkable pieces in the film industry. And now many filmmakers are inspired by his work. He directed more than 50 feature films.
